For Georgia party declined to sign President's Georgian Charter

Beka Liluashvili, a member of the For Georgia party, clarified that the party will not sign the Georgian Charter initiated by President Salome Zourabichvili due to concerns regarding the proposal for snap elections and the formation of a temporary government.

“After consulting with the president, we announce that the For Georgia party fully supports the reforms outlined in the Georgian Charter and commits to assisting in their implementation. As for the issue of holding snap elections and a temporary government formation, we believe that the discussion on this issue leads to a political and legal dead end.

Discussing this issue undermines the importance of the October 26 elections as a decisive event. Our team cannot endorse this approach and cannot sign the document. While we recognize the importance of unity, it must be built on shared objectives. Our primary goal is to ensure that the elections held on October 26, 2024, are conducted freely, fairly, and in a competitive environment.

We firmly believe that these elections will peacefully guide Georgia back onto the path of democratic, European development,” stated Beka Liluashvili at the briefing.
