For Georgia Gakharia proposes parliamentary commission in response to GD's accusations

Giorgi Gakharia, chair of the For Georgia party, suggested the establishment of a parliamentary commission after the upcoming elections to investigate various issues within the Georgian Dream. Responding to comments by Mamuka Mdinaradze, Gakharia emphasized that the current ‘hysteria’ from the ruling party indicates growing support for his party.

“I read the text, but I didn’t listen to it. This text, in reality, seems to have been penned by Ivanishvili, who is driven by fear. He understands that as we approach serious pre-election issues, he has asked his people for apologies for unclear reasons. This comes after his Prime Minister made damaging statements blaming our country for starting the war, which undermines our policy of non-recognition and threatens our sovereignty. Ivanishvili is prioritizing his financial interests over the national interest, using high-ranking officials and the state for his personal financial disputes. Such actions could be seen as a betrayal of the country’s interests.

I believe Ivanishvili will soon need to clarify his position, as there are pressing questions from society. How can he demand an apology from citizens who have suffered ethnic cleansing? How can he place the blame for the war on our country when his actions jeopardize our relations with the West?

The public deserves answers, and after the elections, we may need to establish a parliamentary commission to investigate these matters. The growing hysteria surrounding the Georgian Dream indicates our rising support and their decline,” he stated.

Mamuka Mdinaradze, Chair of the Georgian Dream faction, accused several opposition figures—including Mikheil Saakashvili, Nika Gvaramia, Mamuka Khazaradze, and Giorgi Gakharia—of operating as agents subordinate to foreign directives. He contended that each vote cast for these individuals poses a threat not only to the nation’s future but also to its very existence.
