Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maia Botchorishvili has expressed hope that relations with the Vatican under the new Pope will remain “as close and tight as before, which is very important for us.
The Foreign Minister made these comments following the inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo XIV in Rome.
The FM stated that they will have an opportunity to meet with the new Pope and discuss Georgia’s priorities.
“The inauguration of the new Pope has taken place. High-level guests from various countries attended the event. Georgia’s President also participated in this ceremony together with our delegation,” she noted.
“We had the opportunity to greet the new Pope. We will have the chance to discuss with him the priorities that Georgia has,” the Foreign Minister added.
