FM Darchiashvili: PM's UN speeches emphasize our commitment to peaceful, developed future
Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili stated that the central theme of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s speeches at the United Nations was Georgia’s commitment to building a peaceful, developed country that benefits all citizens.
Darchiashvili highlighted the Prime Minister’s emphasis on peace during his addresses at both the UN General Assembly and the Security Council.
“It was crucial for Georgia to address the Security Council amidst current security challenges. Today, during these challenging security conditions, we had the privilege of engaging on a significant platform at the Prime Minister level. The Prime Minister reinforced that our government is taking effective steps under his leadership to ensure peace and prosperity for all,” he noted, adding that Kobakhidze reiterated Georgia’s solidarity with Ukraine, affirming support for its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Minister underscored that Georgians do not merely view themselves as consumers of international peace but as active contributors, having participated in significant missions that have cost lives.
“We lost heroic soldiers in the pursuit of peace,” Darchiashvili stated.
He also pointed out that the Prime Minister’s address celebrated Georgia’s economic achievements and the importance of ongoing efforts for peace and prosperity.
Kobakhidze reached out to those living beyond the occupation line, expressing hope for a unified Georgia.
“Regarding the General Assembly, I want to reiterate that the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of peace and the collective efforts required to achieve prosperity in our country. He specifically addressed our brothers and sisters living beyond the occupation line, conveying a strong message of our commitment to a unified Georgia.
The Prime Minister also highlighted Georgia’s economic successes and our significant progress in development. He noted international assessments recognizing Georgia as a leading country in areas such as budget transparency, the rule of law, and more—an accomplishment we take great pride in.
Overall, the key message from the Prime Minister was our dedication to fostering a peaceful and developed future for every citizen,” Darchiashvili concluded.
