Five opposition MPs asked Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili to assign new seats to the People’s Power party members in the parliament’s session hall.
Teona Akubardia, Khatuna Samnidze, Ana Natsvlishvili, Tamar Kordzaia, and Tariel Nakaidze cited offensive words made by People’s Party MPs as the cause.
In their appeal to the Speaker, the signatories said that the defamatory statements towards opposition lawmakers during the plenary sittings on March 21-22 turned into a physical row on Wednesday afternoon.
“Such behaviour of the parliament members, who represent People’s Power in the parliament, is a constant source of conflict. Please, take appropriate measures and reseat the mentioned group’s MPs,” reads the statement.
