Earlier, the football players marched from the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium to Freedom Square, where part of the fans met them at the stadium, while others gathered at Liberty Square.
The Georgian President, Salome Zourabichvili, awarded members of the national football team and representatives of the National Football Federation with Orders of Honor. This recognition follows nominations by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili.
The Georgian football team returned from Germany this morning after an impressive performance at the European Championship, landing back in Tbilisi at 09:15. A large number of fans welcomed the national team at the airport, waving flags and shouting thanks as they escorted the team out of the airport area.
