Federica Mogherin: Georgia is invaluable and faithful partner for EU
Georgia is the invaluable and faithful partner for the EU, – Federica Mogherin, the Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy made this statement after the EU-Georgia Association Council session.
As Mogerini noted, a long and positive meeting was held where cooperation and partnership issues were discussed.
“As always, we had a very long and positive meeting. After a very successful Eastern Partnership Summit, we discussed our excellent cooperation and partnership. We achieved very positive results. Visa liberalization is a good example. I remember how we were discussing the visa liberalization issue last year. We believe that relation between the EU and Georgia is becoming deeper. I would like to say that the EU is ready to use our friendship potential fully. It is great pleasure for me to work with Georgian Government. I see you work on reforms in which you have our support. Our goal is to maintain stability in Georgia. The Geneva talks and the EU Monitoring Group serve for this purpose. I appreciate your reforms and policies. More than 100 people entered the Schengen Zones. The Georgian government did its best for it. It’s vital for our tourism, to get to know each other. The second is that we see Georgian products in Europe. We are the first trade partner for Georgia – Georgia’s exports increased by 37%. And the third – to deepen our cooperation, the relationship between people. This is the most important. We have an ambitious agenda for the next year. Georgia is an invaluable and faithful partner for the EU”, – said Federica Mogherin.
