FBI calls Trump rally shooting 'assassination attempt'

FBI Special Agent Kevin Rojek with the Pittsburgh field office, says the shooting at Donald Trump campaign rally in Butler, PA, was an “assassination attempt” against the former president.

“This evening we had what we’re calling an assassination attempt on our former president Donald J Trump,” he said.

He says they are close to identifying the shooter but are not yet prepared to release his name.

Rojek also says that they do not have yet have a motive.

The US former president, Donald Trump, was shot in the ear during a campaign rally on Saturday. His life is not in danger. However, one rally participant was killed during the shooting, and two others are in critical condition.
