The family of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, who was killed in Berlin, asks to provide them with protection. Deutsche Welle publishes this information based on the family’s lawyers.
“We demand that for those who have not received protection so far, it finally be provided in Germany and Sweden. Unfortunately, last year we painfully realized that the fear of persecution by the Russian authorities, due to which we had left our homeland, is justified,” the Khangoshvili family said in a statement.
Family members of the murdered man hail the fact that the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office Federal Prosecutor of Germany filed charges against a Russian national suspected of killing Zelimkhan Khangoshvili.
Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, ethnic Chechen, the citizen of Georgia, was shot dead in Berlin on August 23, 2019. Last week, the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office accused the Russian authorities of ordering the murder of Khangoshvili.
