Family of March protest activist Lazare Grigoriadis applies to President for pardon
The family and a defense lawyer of Lazare Grigoriadis, an activist in the March 7-9 mass protests, applied to President Salome Zourabichvili with a pardon request.
The convicted youngster’s mother, Tamta Kalandadze, said she hoped the President would pardon her son.
“I do not know how the President will act, though believe she will pardon Lazare. We were ready for this decision. We did not communicate with the President yet, but youngsters provided her with the information about the issue,” she said.
Lazare Grigoriadis, an activist of the March 7-9 mass protests in Tbilisi, has been sentenced to 9 years in prison.
Lazare Grigoriadis was arrested on March 29, following March 7-9 mass protests in Tbilisi against the Foreign Influence Transparency bill. Lazare was charged with throwing a Molotov Cocktail at law enforcers and burning a patrol police car.
