External Merchandise trade up by 3% in January-August

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 14 703.2 million in January-August 2024, 3.0% higher year-on-year, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.

The value of export increased by 2.4 percent reaching USD 4 173.4 million, while the import increased by 3.3 percent and amounted to USD 10 529.8 million. The trade deficit equaled USD 6 356.3 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 43.2 percent.
