External Merchandise Trade up 38% in January-March 2022

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 3 866.8 million in January-March 2022, 38.0 percent higher year-on-year, the country’s National Statistics Office said on Wednesday.
It continued that the value of export increased by 43.3 percent reaching USD 1 171.8 million, while the import increased by 35.8 percent and amounted to USD 2 695.0 million. The trade deficit equaled USD 1 523.2 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 39.4 percent.
