In January-April 2022, the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 5,253,7 million, 33,4 per cent higher year on year, Georgia’s National Statistics Office reported.
The exports equalled USD 1,587,5 million (32,8 per cent higher), while the imports stood at USD 3,666,2 million (33.7 per cent higher). The negative trade balance was USD 2,078,6 million in January-April 2022, and its share in external trade turnover made up 39,6 per cent, it noted.
In January-April 2022, the share of the top ten trading partners in total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 68,3 per cent. The top trading partners were Turkey (USD 766,3 million), China (USD 614,7 million) and Russia (USD 559,7 million).
