Ex-president Saakashvili to arrive in Georgia for local elections, not feared by alleged arrest
Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili vows to arrive in Georgia for the October 2 local elections. He also urges Georgian citizens living abroad to do so.
“I will personally go to these polls, and I would like to call on all our fellow citizens abroad who have the opportunity to do so, to take a vacation on election day, and come to Georgia,” Saakashvili said during his Facebook live.
“Every Georgian citizen must make a choice, go to this referendum, and vote against Ivanishvili’s so-called Dream. I am not afraid of arrest as I am sure the Georgian people will release themselves and release me too,” Saakashvili stated.
The local elections are scheduled for October 2, 2021.
