Ex-President Saakashvili plans to involve in politics

Jailed ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili plans to involve in Georgian politics actively. As Saakashvili wrote on Facebook, he intends to attend court trials.

“The last drop was the parade of traitors I saw yesterday in the Adjara Supreme Council. The betrayal of Georgia and the Russification attempt penetrated at all levels. Despite my health condition, I intend to become actively involved in Georgian politics simultaneously with my involvement in Ukraine. We should not sit back waiting for Ukraine’s victory but draw it closer with our innovative and bold activities.

From today, if I physically can, I will attend all trials. I call on all national, anti-Russian, and European forces for unity, among them and primarily my established United National Movement,” Saakashvili said.

Mikheil Saakashvili has been in jail for over a year, convicted of abuse of power while in office. Due to the deterioration of his health, the ex-President undergoes medical treatment at the Vivamed Clinic.
