Head of Cooperation at the European Union, Nicholas Cendrowicz, on Tuesday, said he was “disappointed” that Tbilisi Pride Festival was cancelled. “Actually, I was planning to go there on Saturday so that was also part of the disappointment.”
In his remark, the EU representative underscored that “everybody has the constitutional right not only to express themselves freely but also to demonstrate and that was not guaranteed.”
“We actually had a meeting this morning with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to find out what has happened. It was very disappointing to see it had to be cancelled,” he told media outlets.
