EU member state lawmakers adopt declaration, back Georgia's EU perpsective 

“Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC) welcomes the decision of the European Council to grant the status of candidate country to Ukraine and to the Republic of Moldova, as well as its readiness to grant the status of candidate country to Georgia, and fully supports their progress towards joining the European Union,” reads the Declaration adopted at the COSAC session, held on November 13-15 in Prague.

According to the Parliament’s press office, the agenda included discussions on the European future, EU strategic autonomy, the war in Ukraine and related challenges, as well as the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries and the EaP states.

The sessions were attended by MPs from the EU 27 member, as well as the candidate states, and the representatives of the EU institutions.

The Georgian Parliamentary Delegation, composed of the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili and the Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, David Songulashvili participated in the sessions with the special invitation of the EU presiding country – the Czech Republic and the Presidential Trio.
