EU Integration Committee Chair meets representatives of Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France
The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili held a meeting with the Head of the Caucasus and Central Asia Department of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Mathieu Combe, and the Head of the EU Foreign Relations Department, Benoit Lerosey.
According to the parliament’s press office, the meeting was dedicated to the deliberation of the EU integration of Georgia, a positive recommendation of the EU on granting the candidate status and compliance with the recommendation.
The parties discussed the issues included in the agenda of the Council of European Union December meeting and the position of France thereon. According to Botchorishvili, Georgia aspires to keep reforming to prepare for the EU membership. She underlined the importance of cooperation with the EU and its member states in this process. The discourse included the upcoming steps.
As Botchorishvili highlighted, in view of the acceleration of compliance with EU recommendations, the Georgian Government ratified the action plan.
