EU High Representative: All detained protesters must be freed immediately. Steps Georgia is taking are not indirection of Europe
Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission, said the Foreign Affairs Council briefly discussed the situation in Georgia.
EU High Representative noted that “The adoption of repressive legislation and the excessive use of force against protesters is an alarming deterioration in the region. All these protesters must be freed immediately. And it is clear that the steps Georgia is taking are not in the direction of Europe.”
“We expect certain values and certain steps to be taken by candidate countries like Georgia, and clearly, Georgia is definitely not taking the right steps,” Kaja Kallas said following the meeting of the Council.
