‘Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Georgia in the spring of 2020,’ Giorgi Janjgava, Ambassador of Georgia to Turkey said today.
Ambassador said the Strategic Partnership Council will be held in February 2020.
Several weeks ago Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia visited Turkey to participate in Georgian-Turkish Economic Commission, which was suspended in 2005.
Soon after this meeting, Georgian PM revisited Turkey to participate in the launching of the European connection of the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project.
We have spoken to the Turkish side. Presumably, the Strategic Partnership Council will be held in February 2020. In May 2020, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Georgia.
Turkey is not only our kind neighbor but also a strategic partner, which recognizes Georgia’s territorial integrity and supports Georgia`s way towards NATO membership,’ Giorgi Janjgava said.
