Enguri HPP firmly denies allegations of ID card confiscation and negotiations with Russian occupiers
Enguri HPP LLC has categorically rejected the accusations made by Ana Tsitlidze, chairperson of the United National Movement’s Zugdidi organization, regarding the alleged confiscation of ID cards from its employees.
In a statement, Enguri HPP characterized these claims as a “complete lie” and asserted that such an event never occurred, rendering any possibility of evidence non-existent.
“Tsitlidze’s accusations, particularly those concerning the supposed confiscation of ID cards from Enguri HPP employees, are wholly unfounded and misleading. We firmly assert that no such event has ever taken place, and therefore, any claims of ‘evidence’ to substantiate this assertion are entirely baseless,” the statement reads.
Moreover, the statement contends that the allegation regarding negotiations with Russian occupiers concerning the closure of the Enguri Bridge is also false.
“Regarding the more serious and slanderous accusation pertaining to alleged negotiations with Russian occupiers about the closure of the Enguri Bridge, we categorically dismiss this claim as completely absurd and without merit.
We reiterate that Ana Tsitlidze is engaged in a targeted campaign aimed at discrediting not only the chairman of the board of directors, Levan Mebonia but also Enguri HPP LLC and its employees. Such slanderous statements are not new to her rhetoric, as she has made similar accusations in previous years,” the statement notes.
The statement concludes by indicating that Enguri HPP reserves the right to report Tsitlidze’s statements to the relevant authorities for investigation and potential legal action, as these slanderous accusations have been reiterated in previous electoral cycles.
