Emmanuel Macron's letter to Salome Zurabishvili: I wish you and Georgian people happiness and prosperity, you can count on France's support
French President Emmanuel Macron has sent a congratulatory letter to Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili on Georgia’s Independence Day. The letter was published by the French Embassy in Georgia.
“Madam President, on the occasion of the National Day of Georgia, I wish you and the Georgian people happiness and prosperity.
The health crisis we are experiencing will have economic and social consequences which are a major challenge for all states. As I mentioned during our phone conversation on May 7, cooperation between our two countries will contribute to responding to this challenge, and you can count on France’s support. The increase in loans, provided by the French Development Agency to Georgia, will allow your country to support reforms in the healthcare, social protection, and energy sectors and is fully in line with this perspective.
France and Georgia have long enjoyed a special, friendly, and trusting relationship. our cooperation has been strengthened by the establishment of the Dimitri Amilakhvari Structural Dialogue, which we launched during your visit to Paris in February 2019, and the first session of which was opened in Paris last December. Let the coming months allow us to deepen our relationship, in particular in the field of education and youth, with the launch of lectures at the French-Georgian University, scheduled for the fall of 2020”, – the letter reads.
