The Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Givi Mikanadze held a meeting with the Regional Director for Wider Europe at the British Council, Adrian Chadwick, and the Regional Director for the South Caucasus and Georgia, Zaza Purtseladze.

At the working meeting, Mikanadze expressed his gratitude for the “lasting and productive” activity of the British Council in Georgia, namely, the assistance rendered in the education sphere. He emphasized one of the priorities of the Georgian Government to convert the country in the regional hub for education, which implies the opening of the regional branches of the leading international educational institutions.

As Mikanadze noted, the Georgian Government spares no effort to facilitate the opening of international institutions. He accentuated the recent legal changes and the activities of the Government, including the recognition of the diplomas with other countries.

Chadwick underlined that the British Council supports the initiative of Georgia to serve as the regional education hub; per his information, the British Council intends to uphold consultations with British higher institutions to introduce the potential of Georgia.

Purtseladze stressed that the British Council intends to assist Georgia in introducing the advantages of the country to British institutions and organize online meetings and introductory visits for persons concerned.
