Economy Minister says selection of private partner for Anaklia port to be underway
Regarding the port of Anaklia, the planned process of selecting a private partner and starting construction work is underway.
Levan Davitashvili, Georgia’s First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated that the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project is being expedited and made more efficient through the simultaneous processes of selecting a private partner and initiating construction works.
According to the Minister, the government familiarized society with the details last year, so “no surprises or unexpected things are happening.”
“We are following the procedures as per the legislation and the plan, which we set at the initial stage of the project’s implementation. The stage of proposal specification for the selection of a private partner is in progress and will be finalized soon. We keep an intensive dialogue with the bidders, as many technical details are being clarified,” he said.
According to him, the selection process adheres to the timeline.
