Economy Minister says construction sector's development is linked to economic growth
First Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili, opened Real Estate Week at the ExpoGeorgia fairgrounds.
The minister spoke about the significance of the construction sector in economic growth and investment attraction.
Levan Davitashvili said that the annual fair is organized by the Georgian National Real Estate Association (GNARE) and comprises three activities: Real estate fair, Construction fair-Caucasus Build and Real Estate Forum. As the First Vice Prime Minister noted, the week will allow representatives of the construction sector to inform both the local community and potential investors about the latest trends and investment climate of Georgia, make commercial deals and establish business contacts.
Davitashvili remarked on the role of the Ministry in contributing to the stable development of the construction sector, adding the Ministry worked on Eurocodes to adapt to European standards.
“Stimulating measures to help the real estate market will continue. We have certain outlines that we want to use this year, which, on the one hand, are directly related to the sector development, and on the other hand, to economic growth,” he said.
