Drug sales above reference prices may be prohibited

The pharmaceutical product distributors will not be allowed to exceed the reference price when selling products. The government-initiated Law on Medicines and Pharmaceutical Activities includes relevant changes.

Failure to follow the rules will result in warnings and, if repeated, a GEL 5,000 fine.

Furthermore, selling a drug at a price exceeding the reference wholesale price will result in a GEL 22,500 fine and, if repeated, a GEL 45,000 fine.

The government requests that the aforementioned modifications be considered shortly.
