Dinamo Arena Administration says stadium's sustainability unchanged
The Georgian national football team will host Czechia at the Mikheil Meskhi stadium instead of Dinamo Arena.
The Administration sent two letters to the Georgian Football Federation (GFF). The first letter said that the stadium could host the national team. The other clarified that the stadium could host the team supporters up to 41 thousand people only in one part based on the recent security certificate.
According to the Administration, the Dinamo Arena was last reconstructed in 2015 and was financed from the state budget.
“All problems have been resolved within the reconstruction works and its sustainability has not changed since. This can be confirmed by the expertise conclusions prepared from 2015 till present,” it said in the statement.
The GFF General Secretary Davit Mujiri told the GPB First Channel that the owners were responsible for keeping the stadium in a condition to use all tributes for hosting such a high-ranking match.
“We physically require using all places to allocate UEFA officials, representatives of the rival team and organizing staff.
Mikheil Meskhi Stadium is indicated as the location for the next meeting slated for October against Albania. If the Administration confirms that all problems are resolved, we are ready to relocate the match in agreement with the Albanian side,” Mujiri said.
Georgia will face Czechia at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium on September 7. The match will kick off at 8 p.m. and the GPB’s First Channel will live-transmit it.
