Detained foreigner accused of violating personal life privacy

The Special Investigative Service arrested a Turkish citizen on charges of violating personal life privacy.

The investigation revealed that the accused had formed a relationship with a Georgian citizen during his stay in Georgia. The indicted secretly captured nude images of the victim during their interaction via social media without her consent.

According to the investigation, following the termination of the relationship, the accused sent unlawfully obtained photos to the victim’s family members. After the victim reported the incident, the Special Investigation Service conducted comprehensive investigations and apprehended M.A., a Turkish citizen born in 1992.

The General Prosecutor’s Office charged the detainee under Article 157 of the Criminal Code. This offence carries a penalty of imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
