Deputy Minister of Health: 240 people were injured during the rally at Rustaveli Avenue, 102 remain at the hospital
A total of 240 people were injured during the rally ongoing at Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi in front of the parliament, 102 remain at the hospital – Zaza Bokhua, the Deputy Minister of Georgian Ministry of IDPs, Health, Labor and Social Affairs reported.
According to him, the condition of one of the injured is grave, and the two are undergoing surgery.
“In total, 240 patients were transferred to hospital, 80 of them are policemen. Two are undergoing surgery. One patient’s condition remains grave. Currently, 102 patients remain hospitalized and are placed in different hospitals” – Deputy Minister said.
The clash between protesters and law enforcers occurred during the rally ongoing at central Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi in front of the parliament yesterday. The riot police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters.
