Deputy Economy Minister discusses enhanced connectivity with UK and US via British Airways codeshare
Georgia’s Deputy Economy Minister, Mariam Kvrivishvili, announced that an agreement has been finalized with British Airways, which will begin direct flights between London and Tbilisi, operating four times a week starting in March 2025.
“We are enhancing connectivity with both the UK and the Americas, as our flight schedule aligns with transit flights to the US through British Airways’ codeshare partnership with American Airlines. This collaboration introduces a prestigious airline to Georgia’s aviation and tourism sector, increasing the country’s appeal on the international stage and raising awareness of Georgia in the British tourism market.
The introduction of these direct flights, operating four times a week, is poised to significantly boost tourist inflows from the UK.
Additionally, it lays a strong foundation for the establishment of direct flights to the US. This initiative is particularly meaningful to me and my team. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has worked tirelessly over the past three years to achieve this success for our country,” stated Mariam Kvrivishvili.
