On the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia, the development of a completely new resort is starting in Racha, Georgia, with Mravaldzali selected as the location, Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy, announced to reporters.
According to Kvrivishvili, this historic decision will contribute to increased tourist flows, new jobs, and the region’s economic development.
“We had an assignment from the Prime Minister, we conducted a number of studies, explored various places, and selected Mravaldzali as one of the particularly interesting destinations where the state, together with the private sector, will develop the resort in a planned manner. We aim to create a multi-purpose, four-season resort, so the resort will be planned accordingly. We will involve leading international companies from the very beginning to ensure the correct concept and further development of the resort. We are working closely with investors to accelerate infrastructure development with their involvement. This project will be of great importance to Racha.
With increased investment, tourist flows will grow, creating new job opportunities and strengthening Racha’s economic situation. Additionally, the territories of Skhartali and Betlevi, as well as Shkhivana, have been identified as potential resort areas. We are exploring these directions to establish additional resort areas,” said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
The deputy minister emphasized that each resort will be planned as a four-season destination to meet the expectations of both domestic and international travellers.
