Demonstration in Tbilisi marks Europe Day with march toward Europe Square

On the occasion of Europe Day, opposition parties, NGOs, activists, and citizens gathered at five different locations across Tbilisi and are now marching toward Europe Square.

Irakli Pavlenishvili, a leader of the United National Movement, addressed journalists, emphasising that a segment of society continues to assemble and celebrate Europe Day—united in their struggle not only for a European future but also for a better Georgia.

“This demonstration embodies our unwavering commitment to the European path we once embraced. Unfortunately, Ivanishvili, who clings to power, opposes the will of the Georgian people. Nevertheless, those who believe in a brighter, European Georgia remain united today,” Pavlenishvili stated.

Aleko Elisashvili, one of the leaders of Strong Georgia, highlighted that today’s march aims to reaffirm their determination for Georgia to join the European Union.

“Europe Day serves as a reminder of our desire for Georgia to become part of the most civilised union of nations—the EU. We remain resilient, steadfast, and fully committed to defending Georgia’s future,” Elisashvili declared.
