“The decision to postpone the Noble Partner exercise for an indefinite term is incomprehensible to us. International drills are mutually beneficial both for Georgian and US defence forces,” said Georgian Defense Minister, Irakli Chikovani.
According to Chikovani, the Georgian Defense Ministry and the U.S. Department of Defense cooperate in different formats and this cooperation continues.
“International exercises, including exercises in which units of different countries participate, are useful for both the Georgian Defense Forces and the US Armed Forces, as well as for representatives of all the states that participate in these drills. Therefore, we continue to prepare for the military drills slated for 2025,” he said.
On July 5, the US Department of State announced the indefinite postponement of the Noble Partner exercise in Georgia, originally scheduled for July 25 – August 6, 2024, as part of the US-Georgia relationship review.
