Defense Minister meets US Ambassador

The Georgian Defense Minister, Irakli Chikovani, held an introductory meeting with US Ambassador Robin Dunnigan at the Ministry.

Minister Chikovani praised the US for providing strong political and practical support to Georgia. The discussions encompassed various aspects of cooperation in security and defence, outlining plans within the Georgia-US strategic partnership.

The meeting discussed the efforts to enhance defence capabilities, the significance of international exercises, Georgia’s substantial contribution to international security and the NATO-Georgia cooperation. Both parties expressed optimism about the continued strengthening of fruitful cooperation.

The US Ambassador highlighted the significance of defence and security cooperation in the broader US-Georgia strategic partnership. She congratulated Minister Chikovani on his appointment and discussed plans for collaboration to reinforce Georgia’s defence capabilities.
