Defence Minister wants military-industrial products to be appealing globally
The Georgian Defence Minister, Irakli Chikovani, emphasized the importance of making products produced by the military-industrial complex attractive in the international market.
Speaking on Imedi TV, he highlighted the need for the Georgian military industry to not only fulfil the country’s defence needs but to focus on creating globally appealing products.
“In a specific domain, we have achieved commendable results, although it’s crucial to acknowledge that there have been projects lacking the expected follow-up, an aspect we must openly recognize.
Regarding the military industry, our principal goal should be to meet the specific needs of our defence forces, ensuring a prompt and effective response. However, our focus cannot and should not be exclusively on our domestic consumption. The products manufactured by our military-industrial complex must be both capable of meeting our national demands and be attractive in the international market,” Chikovani stated.
Chikovani believes the assessment and analysis of the existing business model is needed to create a successful business project.
