Defence Minister participates in Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting

The Georgian Defence Minister, Juansher Burchuladze, took part in the Ukrainian defence contact group meeting in Germany.

The Defence Ministry reports that the 15th international group meeting convened at the Ramstein Air Base.

“The Secretary of Defence of the United States, Lloyd Austin, opened the meeting, which discussed the situation resulting from Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and military assistance efforts to coordinate for Ukraine. Members of the international group discussed Ukraine’s short-term and long-term needs in the context of the ongoing war,” the Ministry states.

The Ukraine Defence Contact Group, initiated by the United States in April 2022, brings together more than 50 countries supporting Ukraine.
