Declaration on deepening military cooperation between Georgia and Croatia was signed
Georgia and Croatia will further strengthen cooperation in defense.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, the joint declaration on deepening military cooperation was signed by the Minister of Defence of Georgia Levan Izoria and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and the Minister of Defence Damir Krsticevic, in Split, Croatia.
After the official welcoming ceremony at the headquarters of the Croatian Navy, the ministers held a face-to-face meeting and discussed future plans in the field of defence. The discussion touched upon the implementation of a Substantial NATO-Georgia Package. According to Levan Izoria, Croatia expressed its readiness to continue intensive cooperation with Georgia in the framework of various initiatives of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP).
Georgia’s Defence Minister said that at the meeting the sides discussed engagement of Georgia’s Defence Ministry’s Military Police Platoon in the NATO Multinational Military Police Battalion. “The decision is positive and from 2020, we will take part in various military trainings, missions together with NATO, including within the military police format, which is yet another recognition of our capabilities and getting them closer to NATO standards,” Levan Izoria said.
