The deadline for vehicle customs clearance has been extended until March 2021, – Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at a government meeting today.
According to him, fines will not be accrued during the deferral.
“The crisis impact will seemingly be long-term not only in Georgia but throughout the world. Car importers appealed to us several times and the step we have taken in terms of customs clearance has already been postponed once. In the interests of the fiscal year, it would probably be better to postpone it until March 2021, in addition, fines will not be accrued. This refers to about 24 thousand cars and this is a tax deferral of about 30 million,” – said Giorgi Gakharia.
