Danish Ambassador says it's 'pity' opponents used her article in negative context - MFA
Georgian Foreign Ministry (MFA) on Thursday said the Danish Ambassador’s article “contained significant factual inaccuracies and non-objective assessments, which do not contribute to the formation of a positive attitude of the international community, including Danish readers, towards the nation.”
After summoning the Danish Ambassador to Georgia Anne Toft Sørensen, the MFA issued a statement saying that during the meeting “The Danish side voiced concern, stating that the article was intended to assist Georgia’s EU integration and was unfortunately taken negatively by opponents.”
Sørensen was summoned by the Ministry, following her article posted on the Danish news portal Jyllands-Posten mentioning the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili as “the oligarch” who “built a fortune in Russia in the 90s”.
