Melikishvili Avenue in Tbilisi is still blocked.
Opposition leaders, including Elene Khoshtaria from the Coalition for Change and Sopo Japaridze, chair of the Tbilisi branch of the United National Movement, are present at the scene. They have called on the public to join the demonstration on Melikishvili Avenue.
Protesters have announced their intention to stay on the avenue throughout the day to continue their protest.
Law enforcement officers are also on-site.
In the early morning, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) urged protesters and organizers at Tbilisi State University (TSU) to clear the area of any artificial structures within 15 minutes and relocate to another site to express their dissent lawfully. Police subsequently cleared the road and removed several protesters from the location.
