Court sends man behind bars for dog abuse

The Bolnisi District Court has satisfied the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office’s petition by sending a person behind bars for dog abuse in Marneuli

The incident is being investigated under Article 259 of the Civil Code, which refers to animal torture, cruel treatment, or other forms of violence.

Social media users shared video footage of animals being treated cruelly in one of the villages in Marneuli.

The next trial has been slated for February 28.
