The corpse of Temirlan Machalikashvili, 19-year-old youth who was injured during the special operation carried out by State Security Service in Duisi village, Pankisi Gorge on December 26, underwent through expertise at Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau.
Lawyer of the family and independent expert Maia Nikoleishvili attended the process. The corpse will be transferred to Pankisi Gorge and will be buried at the village cemetery.
Machalikashvili died this morning at St. Michael Archangel Multi Profile Clinic Hospital. Details about transferring of the patient to the Turkish Clinic were being finalized on January 9. His health condition remained critical. Machalikashvili was connected to the artificial breathing apparatus. The patient was transferred to Tbilisi from Telavi Referral Hospital where his health condition turned to the worse.
Family members claim that Machalikashvili’s life could be saved if he were transferred abroad for medical treatment in a timely manner.
The family also disagrees with the official version of investigation and rules out charges regarding assistance to terrorist activities and the youngster’s connection with the crime group of Akhmed Chatayev, one of the world’s most wanted terrorists killed during the counterterrorism operation carried out at Monk Gabriel Salosi Street in Tbilisi on November 22.
