Contract signed regarding commencement of first stage for construction of GPB new building
General Director of Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) Tinatin Berdzenishvili and Director of “Dagi” LTD Mikheil Sharangia signed a contract regarding the commencement of the first stage works for construction of a new building of Georgian Public Broadcaster.
The first stage consists of constructive and architecture parts of the construction. “Dagi” LTD is the winner company of the tender announced by GPB in June of 2020. The new building of GPB will be located across 2 hectares of land territory at #31 Politkovskaya Street in Tbilisi. The construction permit was issued by Architecture Service of Tbilisi City Hall in May 2020.
GPB offered to choose the design and outlook of the building to the public. For the first time in Georgian reality, the GPB design was selected through Facebook. A project presented by “Tbilkalakproeqti” LTD won in the open competition. The modern design received 14 227 votes and highest evaluation on part of the special commission. “CMC” Company will supervise construction works.
GPB General Director Tinatin Berdzenishvili said that the very first real stage of the broadcaster’s renovation has started today.
“It is important to see the full process that has been ongoing at Georgian Public Broadcaster since 2017. This applies to the new building as an architectural part, as well as to the present contract, which envisages commencement of construction of a new architectural design project. Also, I would like to mention that the tender procedures were quite lengthy and I am glad that we finally reached the result,” Berdzenishvili said.
Director of “Dagi” LTD Mikheil Sharangia pledged to carry out construction works on time and with high quality.
“Today we signed a historic agreement. The work of future generations is being done. We won the tender, which was held in a transparent manner, and the winner was revealed – our company, which has 15 years of experience and, most importantly, the work will be carried out with quality and on time,” Sharangia said.
