Population and Agricultural Censuses Commission approves updated draft of census program
The Governmental Coordination Commission for Population and Agricultural Censuses has approved the updated draft of the population and agricultural census program, Government Administration reported.
The commission’s meeting under the chairmanship of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze was held at the Government Administration.
At the meeting, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia Gogita Todradze briefed the commission’s members on the census methodology and questionnaire.
The period between November 14 through December 19, 2024, has been set as the timeframe for the next census in Georgia. To ensure the optimal use of financial and human resources, along with the population census, an agricultural census will also be carried out. Besides social and demographic data, a special questionnaire will be used to collect information about household agricultural activities. The preliminary results of the census will be made known in June 2025, while the final outcomes will be published in June 2026.
