Coalition for Changes: Street only place to decide country's fate amid seized democratic institutions

“Street is the only place where the country’s fate is decided amid all other democratic institutions seized,” wrote Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Coalition for Changes on Facebook.

According to Nika Gvaramia, street protests mean the domination of people’s viewpoints, not violence.

“The street is the oldest form of public democracy and remains to be so even in the most established fundamental democracies. The street is neither disorder nor spontaneity – it needs its line of development, rationality and planning, like any result-oriented process.

Street does not mean violence. It means the domination of people’s viewpoints and the regaining of democracy and state by people when they are seized. The street is not the privilege of any generation or group, it belongs to everyone, because democracy is everyone’s privilege, and its protection is everyone’s obligation,” Nika Gvaramia said.
