The Tbilisi City Court will discuss the imposition of the punishment form to Nika Gvaramia, former General Director of Rustavi 2 TV Company today. The sitting is scheduled for 20:00. Gvaramia’s case will be considered by Judge Giorgi Keretashvili.

Nika Gvaramia, former General Director of Rustavi 2 TV Company was presented charges by General Prosecutor’s Office on August 9.

The General Prosecutor’s Office began an investigation on July 20 into Gvaramia’s case on fact of misuse of duties based on the application of Nino Nizharadze, former 9% shareholder of the TV Company.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the criminal case was also filed on the application of Paata Salia, current General Director of Rustavi 2 on presumable inflict of financial damage to the TV Company.

Investigation continues about probing into the legality of financial expenditures of InterMedia Plus and other contractor companies of Rustavi 2 TV Company.

On August 9, before entering the General Prosecutor’s Office, Gvaramia tore the order of charges and said that Prosecutor’s Office had two options – either his imprisonment or freedom since he did not plan to pay the bail.
