Tbilisi City Court denied the reports on the alleged seizure of Formula TV and tagged a misdirect the information released in the media.
“The Defense Ministry filed a lawsuit against defendants Davit Kezerashvili (ex-minister) and Aleksandre Ninua (former head of Procurement Department), demanding compensation for the damage caused by their crime. No request has been submitted to the court to use a security measure, therefore, the court could not consider such a request,” reads the statement.
Georgian Defence Ministry filed a lawsuit against ex-Defence Minister Davit Kezerashvili and former Head of the State Procurement Department, Aleksandre Ninua. They are accused of misappropriation of over EUR 5 million envisaged for the military drills in 2008 through a corrupted deal without the supply of service.
The Ministry demands reimbursement of the inflicted financial damage. Davit Kezerashvili holds a 51% stake in Formula TV.
