Citizens party: We part ways with other opposition

“It is not about entering the parliament. It is the first meeting to see whether we can negotiate or not,” Levan Ioseliani, a member of the Citizens party, told reporters.

According to him, a meeting with the Parliament Speaker will indicate whether the agreement is reachable.

“The negotiations are stuck. The process is not moving forward. The opposition has different tactics, different opinions. Our paths have diverged. We are not talking about entering the parliament now. It is the first meeting to show if negotiation is possible,” Ioseliani said.

Ioseliani added the issue of political prisoners is a priority.

A member of the Citizens party also echoed relations with the rest of the opposition.

“We left the opposition unity. They organized some collective trial of us, which is complete nonsense. The voters decide who is the opposition and who is not,” Ioseliani added.

A member of Citizens added that their party and other opposition have different approaches to easing the political crisis. So, they parted ways.

Leader of the Citizens party stated earlier that his party is ready to publicly meet with the ruling Georgian Dream to speak about easing the crisis and possibly take up his mandate.
