CEC Chair vows Georgia's 2024 parliamentary elections to be held per high standards
Georgia’s 2024 parliamentary elections will be held per high standards, said the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, on Wednesday.
He went on to say that further steps will also be taken regarding voter awareness and institutional strengthening.
“Eight pilot projects implemented since 2018 have shown that technology-based interventions have significantly developed and improved. This enables us to declare that we have gained enough substantial experience to host October 26, 2024, with great professionalism,” Kalandarishvili stated.
The CEC only accepts credible, fair, and impartial foreign observation missions, Kalandarishvili added.
To invite observers to the elections, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia sent a letter to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
