Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, engaged in a review of the October 26 parliamentary elections with representatives from the National Democratic Institute (NDI) observation mission.
During the meeting, Kalandarishvili discussed ongoing court disputes regarding allegations of irregularities and highlighted key findings from the third audit report conducted by the American company Pro V&V.
The discussions also covered the preliminary report from international observer organizations, which offered a positive assessment of the technological advancements implemented in the balloting process.
Kalandarishvili emphasized that the election administration is actively conducting meetings with international organizations and members of the diplomatic corps to provide them with verified information about the CEC’s activities and the current challenges it faces.
“Following each election, the administration reviews the reports published by international organizations. Taking into consideration their main findings and recommendations, to the extent possible, will positively influence the electoral environment,” Kalandarishvili stated.
The National Democratic Institute (NDI) deployed an international delegation on October 20 to observe the parliamentary elections held on October 26 in Georgia.
This delegation comprised 22 political and civic leaders, election experts, and regional specialists from nine countries, who joined six thematic long-term analysts who had been deployed to the country since July.
